COTTAGE OF MY HEART AFFIRMATION BUNDLE
A few years ago, I had this beautiful vision in prayer of walking up stones to a quaint little cottage alongside a beach with long grass. I knocked on the door and our Blessed Mother answered and told me, “He has been waiting for you.” She ushered me into the cottage. Next to the fireplace was a man with a tender gaze and joyful disposition. I knew right away it was Jesus. His peace filled my heart and soul.
In his goodness, Jesus took me to this place for a long time to bring my heart healing from discouragement and doubts and freedom from desolation. I ponder it often and am drawn to an image of cottages with a garden in prayer still today.
From this prayer came the inspiration of our new affirmation cards. I recently found a painting from Victorian watercolor artist, Helen Allingham that struck me. A little boy carrying a baby next to a sweet little cottage and beautiful garden. My eyes were drawn to the beauty and simplicity of the scene, reminding me that our Lord is constantly creating beauty from the simple, little moments. He is constantly creating in us a new heart and a new spirit. I knew I needed to share this with a collection of scripture and Saint quotes.
Each painting uniquely brings beauty to the ordinary tasks, like watering flowers, taking a break from laundry to chat with a neighbor, or taking a stroll down the road. The colors are soft, bringing peace to your heart. I chose scripture and Saint quotes to encourage consolation – through my own desolation, some of these brought my heart deep consolation – and confidence in the Lord's ardent love.
He is always calling out to us. Always drawing our eyes to the infinite beauty he manifests before us. May we be granted the grace to desire him more, to love him purely, to place our total trust in his faithfulness.
I pray these cards bless you in the anointed season you find yourself. As St. Rose Philippine Duchesne said, “I am where God wills me to be, and so I have found rest and security. His power defends me, His grace sanctifies me, His mercy encompasses me, His joy sustains me, and all will go well with me."
